The magic of A R Rahman

A R Rahman is known to be the ‘artful dodger’- preferring to let his music do the talking, instead of him. His favourite line, when asked about his future plans being- "It's a surprise". I recently met him when he was in Delhi to release his latest music video- "Pray for me, Brother"- which incidentally is the world's first mobile music video- launched under the newly set up A R Rahman Foundation. The following articles resulted because of the meeting.

Was God an Astronaut?

Who created mankind? The answer, some say, lies with those who came from beyond the stars, thousands of years ago. The imagery of extraterrestrial visitors- who came in from other planets and possibly even other galaxies- to seed the human race- is a fascinating one, although highly speculative. If true, this might prove that the God who created mankind was actually an ancient astronaut.

Is there someone out there?

American Space agency NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Mission recently found traces of what were believed to be dried up gullies of water on the surface of Mars. As these droplets of water, frozen in time on the Martian surface are making the Red Planet the focus of the world's attention, it has given rise to the eternal question yet again- Is there someone out there?

Destination Moon

Estimated to be over 4.6 billion years old, the moon- which has no atmosphere- is believed to be fossilized in time. Which means, that rocks which were created when the moon was formed, still exist there. For scientists, studying the moon is akin to studying the early history of the solar system- an opportunity which they probably can’t get anywhere else. As the moon becomes the focus of the world’s attention again, India’s Chandrayaan-I is being readied for its first moon mission.
