Destination Moon

Estimated to be over 4.6 billion years old, the moon- which has no atmosphere- is believed to be fossilized in time. Which means, that rocks which were created when the moon was formed, still exist there. For scientists, studying the moon is akin to studying the early history of the solar system- an opportunity which they probably can’t get anywhere else. As the moon becomes the focus of the world’s attention again, India’s Chandrayaan-I is being readied for its first moon mission.
