Lage Raho, Wodehouse

The man-who has been referred to as “the funniest writer ever to put words on paper” would have been amused to know that the idyllic world that he had created, through his vast body of work- of over ninety-six books, had the biggest following, not in Britain, where he set most of his brilliantly hilarious plots, but in India- a country that he never wrote about.

Why teachers matter

Why do teachers matter? Their importance, I feel becomes clear, when one looks back at one’s school and college days. Although one might not have realised it at that time, the little things that they said and did, knowingly or unknowingly, also helped shape one’s own character.

The entire region has numerous monuments, most of which have now been ravaged by the seekers of hada (pot of gold). The following story brings out the mood of the town, where hunting for treasure is a serious business.

Circus Days here again

The circus, with its colour, vibrancy and excitement, has few parallels. When the Big Top pitched its tents again, this time, in the season of Ramlilas and Dussehra, I went to check it out. The high point of the show was the performance of Russian artistes, who added glamour to the show, with their sensuous performances. The following article resulted.
